St. Helena’s main reservoir fills as another storm arrives

A potentially life-threatening storm was soaking St. Helena on Wednesday, just days after another atmospheric river filled Bell Canyon Reservoir.

Public Works staff reported Tuesday that the reservoir was 100% full. Located near Crystal Springs Road, the reservoir is one of St. Helena’s three water sources, along with groundwater from the Stonebridge wells and water purchased from the city of Napa.

City staff will bring a resolution to the Jan. 10 City Council meeting rescinding the Phase I water emergency that’s been in effect since June 2020, Public Works Director Joe Leach said Tuesday afternoon.
