Intermediate Birding: More Feathered Friends

Sat, Oct 27th 2018, 8:00am - 1:00pm
The Dwight Center Pepperwood Preserve, 2130 Pepperwood Preserve Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95404

This outing is designed for intermediate birders with basic knowledge of common birds who are eager to take their birding skills to the next level. You’ll traverse a variety of beautiful Pepperwood habitats looking for seasonal songbird migrants, raptors, and year-round residents. On this fun day in the field you’ll refine your ability to identify local birds down to family. Bring a bag lunch for the trail and also your favorite pair of binoculars, or borrow one of ours. This is a field-based class with moderate, slow, sometimes off-trail hiking up to 4 miles.

As an Environmental Educator, Nicole helps develop Pepperwood’s education curriculum, leads field trips, and visits our neighboring school systems to teach children about science and conservation. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys birding and dancing the Lindy Hop!
