This event is sponsored by the UC Master Gardeners of Napa County, along with support from organizations such as Connolly Ranch, the Napa-Solano Audubon Society, the Napa Resource Conservation District, and the California Native Plant Society and many other community groups.

There will be plenty of kid-friendly interactive displays and games. The $5 admission fee includes a ticket for one free plant from the Master Gardeners. The weather should be perfect for a day out with friends and family! (For ticket information, please click here.)

Event: Fall Faire

Date: Saturday, October 20th, 2018

Time: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Address: 1710 Soscol Ave., Napa, CA 94558

Details:

Over 20 educational exhibits: a computer-aided microscope to view very small creatures in pond water, flower growing and arranging, natural dyes, identify native oaks by playing a card game, free seed samples, herb bouquets, birdhouses made from gourds, good bugs vs. bad bugs, worm composting, how to read pesticide labels, firewise landscaping, carnivorous plants, bulbs, garlic, garden tool care, growing mushrooms and others.

Enjoy LIVE MUSIC from the popular local group “Not Dead Yet" while walking through exhibits. In between sets, local historian Rebecca Yerger will give us a good scare with some Halloween ghost stories.
Unique to the fair - talking carnivorous plant (recall Audrey 2 from the movie “Little Shop of Horrors.”) Our plant has turned vegetarian, however, and accepts leafy greens in the form of paper money donations to the Napa Master Gardener program. She might give you a little belch after feeding her before she returns to her demand of “FEED ME!”

“Just for Fun” activities will be a big part of the fair. A game area will host group games and activities, many give-aways and make-you-own-to-take- home activities.

Decorations - a giant cornucopia filled with a bounty of pumpkins and gourds, beautifully carved and decorated gourds and Scarecrow Row.

Scarecrow Row - Vote on your favorite scarecrow. Scarecrows, made by creative master gardeners, will welcome guests and guide them to the plant sale, diagnosis kiosk and microscope down Scarecrow Row.

Vote on your favorite scarecrow!
