Bay Area Watershed Network - Public Outreach & Environmental Ed. Workgroup

Thu, Dec 4th 2008, 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Greetings,
You are invited to the second meeting of the Public Outreach and Environmental Education working group of the Bay Area Watershed Network from 3:00-5:00 on Thursday December 4th at 1537 Webster St. in Downtown Oakland.

This working group convened earlier this year on June 10th in order to provide opportunities for individuals to discuss public outreach and environmental education initiatives at their respective agencies and organizations; learn more about Federal, State, local and private sector programs of interest; and create a forum to facilitate the coordination of programs to make competitive grant proposals. Participants in that initial group agreed to meet again this fall to begin pursuing the following goals.

- investigate regional funding base for environmental education and outreach work and begin efforts to pursue funding to support regional collaboration in these areas

- develop a master list of participants and interested parties

Since that meeting the group has discussed the option of working collaboratively with the West Contra Costa County Environmental Educators Roundtable as a possible pilot effort and are inviting speakers from successful educational outreach efforts in the Bay Area to share the details of their collaboration on December 4th.

Please respond if you are able to attend this meeting and please pass this invitation along to other persons or groups that you think might be interested.
