Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program Sign-up Deadline
- Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP) Final 2008 Sign-up Opportunity -
This is an opportunity for 75% cost share to work with USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to add conservation
practices to your land that will benefit wildlife habitat.
Priority projects include:
Restore Native Plant Communities
Control Noxious or Invasive Weeds
Install Fish-Friendly Practices
Benefit Special-Status Species
Enhance Riparian Areas
Agriculture or non-agriculture landowners are eligible. The sign-up period is June 9 - 20, 2008! Awarded contracts will be announced July 11, 2008.
Visit or call your local USDA NRCS Service Center to apply (707-252-4188).
Due to changes in the new Farm Bill legislation this will be the final WHIP opportunity for non-agricultural partners or for those interested in higher cost projects (over $50,000).
