St. Helena Public Library

Ever see river otter pups playing along the shores of local bays? Or underwater video of river otters catching fish? River otters, among the most charismatic of aquatic mammals, are returning and thriving in Bay Area waters. This is a hopeful sign, since the same habitats that support these charming carnivores support other local wildlife and us. MaryEllen King, naturalist and Board Development lead of ROEP, will share videos, natural history and insights from the first ever long term study of river otters in the Bay Area.
