Audubon Fieldtrip to Fairfield Osborn Preserve

Join Madrone Audubon board member and field trip leader, Gordon Beebe to explore the Sonoma County Preserve.

This 450-acre preserve owned and managed by Sonoma State University, lies on the northwest flank of Sonoma Mountain. There are eight plant communities within the property, oak woodland being the dominant type. Other communities include chaparral, Douglas fir woodland, native Bunch grass, freshwater marsh, vernal pool, pond and riparian woodland. The flora is extremely diverse including many native trees, shrubs, wildflowers, grasses, lichens and mosses. 

Bring binoculars and water and snacks. Wear comfortable shoes, layered clothes and a hat.

Meet at east side of Sweeney’s Sports in the River Park Shopping Center on the corner of Imola and So. Jefferson, Napa
