Have you ever wondered what those big, knobby, apple looking things growing out of oak trees are? Those are callled galls, and 70% of them appear on oak trees. There are over 1500 insect species that create galls, and the most elaborate of these galls are those created by wasps. Join Certified California Naturalist, Mary K. Hanson, in an exploration of common wasp galls found here in the Napa Valley, and learn about the industrious little wasps that live within them.
