Beginning Bird Walk at Rockville Hills Regional Park
How do birders tell all the different species apart? Hear tips for finding and identifying typical Northern California birds, including how to use clues such as habitat type, silhouette, and behavior. The team will also review some helpful phone apps, E-bird, and field guides. Recent sightings at this hidden-gem of a park include White-breasted Nuthatches, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, and Spotted Towhees.
Walks and workshops are aimed at Beginning Birders and are held twice per month on Saturdays. All workshops begin at 9 AM, followed by a bird walk from 9:30 AM until noon. Walks are appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). This walk requires hiking up hills, and possibly uneven and muddy paths. Please wear sturdy walking shoes, bring binoculars if you have them, and water.

Directions: Rockville Hills Regional Park is located near Fairfield. From 80 East, take exit 41 for Suisun Valley Rd/Pittman Rd, continue on Suisun Valley Rd. for 1.7 Miles. Make a left on Rockville Rd., drive .8 Miles. The parking lot will be on the left.
