Workshop on Low Impact Development

Wed, Apr 23rd 2008, 9:00am - 4:00pm
What is Low Impact Development?:
LID is gaining popularity as a better approach to stormwater management that seeks to control stormwater at the source, using small-scale integrated site design and management practices to mimic the site's natural hydrology. LID techniques can help development meet water resource protection goals and requirements, while providing benefits to developers, property owners, and communities.

Workshop Focus:
Learn about practical application, design, implementation, and maintenance of LID techniques, and their economic and ecological benefits, from industry experts and local practitioners with first-hand experience. Permeable pavement sessions will provide technical design information on how to use permeable asphalt, concrete, and pavers, in driveways, parking lots, patios, and sidewalks.

Who Should Attend?:
Building Trade professionals – developers, builders, architects, engineers, contractors, environmental consultants, and material suppliers; Landscape Professionals – architects, designers, suppliers, and installers; Local Government – elected officials and staff; State Government – planners and regulators; and the Public.
