Monitoring channelized and natural flows can be a challenging task for the novice and experienced scientist, alike. With water conservation demands growing every year, accurate and reliable flow measurements have become critical to water management decisions. This presentation will focus on acoustic Doppler instruments and their applications for continuous flow monitoring. Key topics will include proper site selection, advantages and  disadvantages of different acoustic Doppler configurations, methods for instantaneous validation and real time data telemetry.
