Fourth Biennial Nonpoint Source Conference

Mon, May 5th 2008, 8:00am - 5:00pm
The Fourth Biennial NPS (Nonpoint Source or polluted runoff) Conference, 'Integrated Watershed Management - Reducing NPS Pollution'; will be held this May 5-7th, 2008 in San Diego.

This NPS Conference will showcase successful watershed based approaches to address NPS pollution. The theme for this year's conference, 'Integrated Watershed Management: Reducing NPS Pollution', will be supported by three main conference 'tracks'. These 'tracks' will reflect three major focuses of watershed work in the NPS field; planning, implementation, and monitoring.

This conference will be aimed at showcasing how sustainability and an integrated holistic watershed perspective can be incorporated into non-point source problem-solving steps. The conference will address local, regional, and global NPS pollution reduction efforts.

Examples of such NPS planning, techniques, and implementation will be taken from state and federally funded Clean Water Act - Section 319 projects, and from California's Proposition 13, 40, and 50 projects.
