Water-Wise Workshop: Alternate Sources – Greywater & Rainwater

Mon, May 15th 2017, 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Senior Center, 1500 Jefferson Street, Napa

Second session in the Spring 2017 Water-Wise Landscaping Workshop Series presented by the City of Napa and UC Master Gardeners of Napa County.

Greywater systems pass used household water through mulch and soil to nourish plants in the landscape.  City Water Division staff will demonstrate set-up of a basic Laundry-to-Landscape Greywater System, showing attendees how to reuse their washing machine outflow without needing a costly permit.  A local landscape design pro will illustrate the best ways to capture rainwater for later irrigation use, how and why to install a rain garden, and the importance of soils, amendments, and mulch.  The "sheet mulching" technique for lawn removal will be highlighted.

Workshop is FREE.  RSVP: Call 707-257-9497 or email jstokes@cityofnapa.org.  For more information, visit www.cityofnapa.org/water.
