Did you know that the Napa River is home to the endangered California freshwater shrimp (Syncaris pacifica)? These rare shrimp are found in only 12 locations in Marin, Sonoma, and Napa counties. Listed as an Endangered species, populations of California freshwater shrimp have been greatly reduced by non-native predator fish and a loss of habitat from various human impacts. Join Fisheries Biologist Scott Cressey, as he sheds lights on this rarely seen creature and what local efforts are taking place to restore it’s habitat.
