Webinar: Suspended Sediment and Sediment Associated Contaminants in the Aquatic Environments

Thu, Jan 26th 2017, 12:00am - 12:30am
Cal EPA Building, Room 1510, 15th Floor 1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA or Online

Speaker: Dr. Andrew B Gray, Assistant Professor, University of California Riverside

Suspended sediment is a complex component of aquatic systems. All natural rivers and streams transport these fine sediments, where they play important physical, chemical and biological roles. However, over-abundance of suspended sediment and their contamination with human generated pollutants together represent the most prevalent impairments of water bodies in the US. This seminar will focus on the methods currently used to characterize suspended sediment and sediment associated contaminants, and assess their impacts on fluvial systems.
