Geology Docent Training

Sat, Sep 1st 2007, 9:00am - 12:00pm
The Napa Valley Museum invites members of the public to join our Museum Education Trunk Docent Team.

On Saturday, September 1st, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, geologist John Livingston will hold professional docent training for our newest Museum trunk, Geology of the Napa Valley. Learn how to educate students of the Napa Valley School District about the unique geologic processes that have shaped our Valley through the hands-on artifacts included in the trunk.

Contact Pat Alexander at 944-055 ext. 106 to enroll in this session and to inquire about other Napa Valley Museum Training seminars.

More than 5,000 children benefit from the educational outreach of the trunk program. The Museum Trunk Program brings arts and history to schools, making both more accessible for all. It is an educational outreach program developed by the Museum to serve mainly elementary schools, as well as community groups in Napa County. Professionally trained volunteer docents bring museum artifacts, photographs, and materials in suitcases, called trunks, out to classrooms.
