California Water Plan Update 2009 - Regional Workshop

The Department of Water Resources, in cooperation with other State agencies, is holding a regional public workshop to gather and share information about the California Water Plan Update 2009. The workshop will be held in Oakland on June 25, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m, with time provided for lunch. The Bay Area Water Forum will be hosting this workshop at the Elihu Harris State Office Building (Room 11), located at 1515 Clay Street. Representatives of water agencies and collaboratives; local, state and federal government; watershed and community groups; conservancies; and the public are strongly encouraged to attend.

This workshop is part of the public outreach to discuss water issues and management strategies in the San Francisco Bay hydrologic region for inclusion in the Water Plan's regional reports. The presentations will include information about related integrated regional water management plans and regional flood plans. Eight regional workshops will be held across the State during the summer of 2007 and again during the early part of 2008 and the late spring of 2009.

Available materials include schedules and agendas (as they become available) for these regional workshops, other meetings, and contact information. Other opportunities to provide input for the Water Plan include regional forums, public plenary meetings, statewide advisory committee meetings and Statewide Water Analysis Network technical workshops.
