Improving California’s Water Accounting

Thu, Jul 21st 2016, 12:00am - 1:30pm
Capitol Event Center 1020 11th Street, second floor Sacramento, CA 95814

Accounting for water availability and use is crucial for effective and sustainable water resource management—especially in a time of growing water scarcity. How can California improve the way it gathers, organizes, and uses essential water information? Join PPIC Water Policy Center researchers and a panel of experts for a discussion about how to modernize California's accounting system. You will review findings from a new PPIC report that highlights best practices from western states, Australia, and Spain.

This research was supported with funding from The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, the S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation, the US Environmental Protection Agency, and the Water Foundation, an initiative of the Resources Legacy Fund.

Please register by July 14. There is no charge to attend, but space is limited. Lunch will be provided.
