Fluvial and Fresh Water Wetland Hydrology Training
This training introduces the dominant physical processes active in creek/stream riparian and freshwater pond/wetland systems. Training focus will be on the watershed and site-specific hydrologic and geomorphic processes that inform creek/wetland restoration and natural resource management practice. Using examples in the San Francisco Bay Area, the training will describe how water supply and physical processes influence the ecological health of riparian corridors and freshwater wetlands, and their vegetation and wildlife communities. Surface- and ground-water interactions will be addressed. This introductory training focuses on identifying and understanding the linkages between hydrologic and biological processes in creeks and freshwater wetland systems critical to sustainable wetland protection, restoration and management.
