Charlie Toledo, of the Suscol Intertribal Council will speak about the culture  and rituals of the Napa Valley’s indigenous peoples. There will be  some artifacts of the tools they used and still use today.

The importance of Oaks and Acorns to the Native Americans in the Napa Valley will be highlighted.  The use of the acorns was important in the diet of an active population. Oaks and acorns continue to play a big role in our environment today. Get a taste of past history with acorn soup and modern day baked acorn breads. Get the feel of cracking acorns, grinding them and preparing them for eating.
