Water-Wise Workshop: Soils, Mulches, and More

Second session in the Fall 2015 Water-Wise Landscaping Workshop Series presented by the City of Napa, the Napa County Resource Conservation District, and UC Master Gardeners.

Following a summary of the eight principles of water-wise landscaping, local Master Gardeners will thoroughly review our local soils and the critical importance of aeration, amendments, and mulch.  The "sheet mulching" technique for lawn removal will be highlighted, along with techniques for capturing rainwater and designing a rain garden.  The basic landscape design concept of hydrozoning will be introduced.
