Stream Restoration and Erosive Forces Workshop

The Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) to the Santa Clara Valley Water District and the Santa Clara Valley Watershed Management Initiative (WMI) are co-sponsoring a half-day public workshop to develop a shared understanding of the problems and solutions associated with stream erosion and restoration.

The Workshop will be a dialogue among invited guests representing a diversity of viewpoints as to how best to address erosion problems. The public is invited to observe and provide input at designated times.

Content of Workshop:

1 A presentation on the points of agreement amongst diverse stakeholders as to the nature of the problem and possible solutions to the problem of erosion in Santa Clara County streams and potential for restoration of physical stability and ecological health of these streams.

2 Presentations by various stakeholders of differing view-points - municipal staff, county-wide stormwater program, Santa Clara Valley Water District, environmental groups - as to what is needed to address erosion and/or re-create stable healthy streams

3 Discussion Period
