This is a message from the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, San Francisco Bay Region (2).

Greetings,

Join staff from the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, San Francisco Bay Region for a discussion of bioretention stormwater treatment construction and maintenance with one of the pioneers of this technology, Mr. Larry Coffman. Mr. Coffman has offered to discuss all aspects of what is emerging as one of the most favored non-proprietary systems for stormwater treatment using landscape-based elements.

Mr. Coffman is a former Associate Director of the Programs and Planning Division of the Prince George's County, Maryland Department of Environmental Resources where he was responsible for the leadership and management of one of the nation's largest and most progressive stormwater management programs. He is one of the key developers of LID technology and Bioretention. Mr. Coffman has written and directed the key research and program activities for LID. This includes incorporation of LID into local programs, monitoring and modeling, and design and implementation strategies. Mr. Coffman has a degree in Biology and has over 25 years in stormwater management and aquatic resource protection. He is a member of the ASCE Urban Water Resources Research Council and co-chairs the subcommittee on LID.
