After surviving last January's floods, the owners of Studio II Gallery are bringing the Napa River back into the gallery in the form of color photographs by local photojournalist Samanda Dorger.
"Where a River Flows" is a selection of images from Dorger's documentary on the river and the Community's ongoing flood control project. The project seeks to protect property from floods by adopting a "living river" strategy that allows the water to flow in its historic channel. Earlier this year, in the midst of the project construction, Napa endured one of the worst floods in 20 years, which inundated homes and businesses on New Year's weekend including Studio II Gallery. Despite the setback, the exhibit is a celebration of the river and the community's effort to embrace it. The lecture/presentation by the Artist will provide insight into the beauty and power of the River.
