Berryessa Peak Hike

Berryessa Peak Hike:

Before the easement was granted and the trail was completed by Tuleyome, there was no public access to the 9,600 acres of public land around Berryessa Peak.  This trail was epic to build, and is epic to hike.  With a 3000-foot elevation gain and a 14.5-mile round trip distance, it is not for the timid.  The vistas are rewarding, the tales of political intrigue behind the trail are riveting, and the satisfaction of reaching the summit is sublime. Expect to be out until after dark.

Meet: We will meet at 8am at the Bureau of Reclamation parking area located at the intersection of Pope Canyon Road and Berryessa-Knoxville Road.  We'll then shuttle up to the trailhead which is a few miles to the north.  Expect to be back at the cars around 6 pm.  Bring a lunch and lots of water, and especially a camera. Rain Cancels.
