Pope Creek Habitat Restoration Volunteer Day
Pope Creek Habitat Restoration Volunteer Day
Meet at 9am at the Pope Creek bridge parking lot at Lake Berryessa
You'll be helping to restore native wildlife habitat on a site that was infested with native species such as star thistle and fennel. Volunteers have been removing invasive plants and planting oaks and grey pine, manzanita, redbud, toyon, Yerba Santa, silver lupine, native grasses, and more.
On Saturday invasive plants will be removed, we'll be checking on whether any of the bushes need more dri-water (water suspended in a gel that disperses over time), and removing some weeds.
Tools, gloves, water and snacks will be provided.
This is a half day project. For the afternoon you can head to one of the parks or hike a trail. We can suggest a place to get lunch or pick up a sandwich.
