Grateful Dead 'Peak' Hike:

Sunday April 14, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm

Leaders: Cathy Koehler and Paul Aigner, Co-Director of the UC Davis - McLaughlin Reserve Presented in partnership with the Land Trust of Napa County

Rating: Strenuous, 3 miles, under 1k ft elevation gain

This hike takes place in Lake County at a beautiful location that few people ever visit. The loop begins at the McLaughlin Reserve where we hike down the slopes overlooking Hole Creek and across to the rock outcropping that we affectionately call Grateful Dead. After appreciating the views from the top of Grateful Dead, we'll loop back to the start. Be prepared for some steep ascents to the top of the rock, with sections of loose scree slopes. Hikers must wear hiking boots with good lug soles-any other footwear will not be allowed on the hike. Bring lunch, plenty of water, and weather gear as appropriate.  Rain cancels.
