VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for Coastal Cleanup Day 2011

September 17, 2011 is Napa Coastal Cleanup Day. The event is part of the 27th annual California Coastal Cleanup Day, a statewide effort to clean trash and debris from beaches, bays, creeks, rivers, and lakes. From 9 am until noon, volunteers will collect trash and recyclables at various locations along the Napa River and other waterways in Napa County. This year’s event will look to build on the success of last year, when 515 volunteers turned out to remove an estimated 11,635 pounds of trash and 6,174 pounds of recyclables from Napa County’s waterways. Families, students, individuals, community groups, businesses, and political and community leaders are encouraged to participate. Learn more at www.naparcd.org.
