Napa River Healthy or Not!

Fri, May 20th 2005, 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Benthic macro invertebrates are aquatic insects that live in river and stream habitats. They are superb water quality indicators. The Friends of the Napa River have just completed this amazing five year biological monitoring project and Dr. Dewberry, the lead scientist on the project, will present the final results and report to the public as interested stake holders, resource agencies and the community at large. Over 160 property owners and numerous volunteers participated in this project to help improve the health of the Napa River.

These results will begin to answer such difficult questions such as: 1) Is the River healthy? 2) If not why not? 3) Does land use effect water quality? 4)What does this relationship look like in terms of biological integrity?
