8th annual Bay-Friendly Garden Tour
The 8th annual Bay-Friendly Garden Tour is scheduled for Sunday, May 1 in Napa and Sunday, May 15 in Alameda and Santa Clara counties.
A new crop of gardens celebrates the diverse styles of Bay-Friendly with backyard orchards, urban homesteads, drought tolerant lawn replacements, a living roof and native habitats. You can preview some of the gardens by visiting the Bay-Friendly blog where a host garden 'pick of the week' will be posted between now and the tour.
In Napa, 12 gardens will welcome visitors on Sunday, May 1. The Napa tour will feature two noon workshops and a mulch give-away. Santa Clara gardens will be open Sunday, May 15. Gardens will be clustered in cities, including: Albany, Berkeley, Oakland, San Leandro, Castro Valley, Hayward, Livermore, Napa, Palo Alto, San Jose and Sunol.
