Wildflower Hikes at Cache Creek
The Bureau of Land Management will host free guided hikes to look for wildflowers in the Cache Creek Natural Area in Lake County on several Saturdays this spring, including April 16, 23 and 30 and May 7.

Participants will meet at the Redbud Trailhead parking area, eight miles east of Clearlake Oaks on Highway 20 at 10 a.m. The trailhead is just west of the North Fork Cache Creek Bridge (38Ëš 59' 13.20" N, 122Ëš 32' 22.50"W).
The wildflower hike is a four-mile hike that lasts three to four hours. The trail includes a steep 600-ft. climb in the first mile, so hikers should be in good physical condition. Hikers should wear sturdy hiking boots, suitable for wet conditions and dress for cold weather. Hikers should bring water and a lunch. Hikes will be cancelled in rainy weather.
Hikers will be supplied with a wildflower checklist for area. Hikers will enjoy scenic vistas of Cache Creek Canyon and the Cache Creek Wilderness Area. In addition, participants often spot wildlife species including tule elk, bald eagles, other raptors and songbirds.
The Red Bud Trail is open to hikers, hunters and wildlife and wildflower enthusiasts year round. Restrooms and an informational kiosk are available at the trailhead. Horse trailer parking is also available for equestrian riders. No potable water is available at the site.
