Napa County Board of Supervisors Groundwater Workshop

The Napa County Board of Supervisors will hold a Groundwater Workshop on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 1:30pm in the The workshop will provide the Board with an update on groundwater resources throughout the county: what we know, what we don't know, and how groundwater and County functions related to water resources are currently administered.

County consultants Luhdorff & Scalmanini Consulting Engineers were tasked to perform a regional assessment of groundwater conditions to provide a comprehensive perspective of county groundwater resources. The study included evaluation of available data, regional modeling efforts, existing monitoring networks, identification of data gaps, and recommended strategies to improve the reliability and sustainability of county groundwater resources.

The workshop has been scheduled to coincide with the release of the consultant's report and technical documents, which will be made available via the County's website.

Upon conclusion of the workshop the Board of Supervisors is expected to provide direction to staff regarding the recommendations proposed by the consultant.
