American Canyon Wetlands Birdwatching - Flyway Festival 2011

Sun, Feb 13th 2011, 9:00am - 4:00pm
Corner of Eucalyptus Drive & Wetlands Edge Road American Canyon

Visit us on the Flyway!! Take a walk on the new wetlands trail that passes near intriguing habitats—grasslands, woodland, salt water bay, fresh water ponds, pickleweed marsh and the shores of the Napa River. Incredible vistas! Flocks of shorebirds, egrets and herons are sure to be seen. Hawks, hummingbirds and all sizes of songbirds abound. Along the trail, stop and chat with our knowledgeable Audubon volunteers who will be "manning" viewing stations and will share what THEY are seeing through their spotting scopes. Join a Beginners Bird Walk for children and families (binoculars available on loan) at 11:00am or 1:00pm; or sign up for a special children's journaling activity—Saturday 2:00pm, for children ages 7-12.

Also - stop by our information and activities table in building 223 on Mare Island , shop our book selection or pick up free materials: directions for creating a bird friendly backyard, instructions for building bird houses, bird id charts and more.

All activities are FREE.
