"American Canyon Wetlands and Open Space Efforts" - Napa Solano Audubon program

Tue, Jan 11th 2011, 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Learn about the efforts to provide more public trails in the American Canyon area. Also planned is a short "crash course" on using eBird to keep your birding records and/or see the recent sightings of others.

Details:

This year at the San Francisco Bay Flyway Festival, the Napa Solano Audubon Society will be setting up our bird observation stations at a new location: the American Canyon Napa River Bay Trail. Todd Novak, Vice Chair of the City of American Canyon's Open Space Advisory Committee will provide an overview of how this trail came to be. He will also discuss plans for upcoming connections between the Napa River Bay Trail and the Congressman Mike Thompson Hike and Bike Loop Trail as well as the Napa County Regional Park and Open Space District Trail. Finally, Todd will discuss plans to gain better public access to Newell Open Space and will describe the committee's efforts on the Vine Trail, a multi-use path that will allow pedestrians and cyclists safe and easy travel from the Vallejo Ferry Terminal to Calistoga.

Audubon monthly meetings are held at the Florence Douglas Senior Center, 333 Amador Street, Vallejo, CA. See website for a map and more information www.napasolanoaudubon.com.
