TOGETHER GREEN - Volunteer Day Mapping Invasive Plants

Sat, Nov 6th 2010, 9:00am - 1:00pm
Napa River Ecological Reserve Yountville Cross Road & the Napa River

Volunteers are needed for a half day project at the Napa River Preserve to provide baseline planning maps for the eradication of invasive exotic weeds that are destroying wildlife habitat in this beautiful, unique ecosystem. Join members of Audubon & Napa CNPS for a couple of hours helping out in this beautiful setting.

Join us Saturday Nov. 6, 9:00am-1:00pm at the Napa River Ecological Reserve on Yountville Crossroad for an Audubon Together Green Volunteer Day. We need volunteers to help with the mapping of the invasive weeds on the west side of the river: people with GPS capabilities, people who can help identify specific invasive weeds, AND others who can help measure, take notes, provide support. Volunteers with NO experience are invited to participate. This is great way to learn more about this unique historic oak woodland & valuable riparian habitat, & the birds and wildlife that call this area home while helping to develop a management plan for their survival AND contributing to the health & welfare of our entire community.

Educational materials, drinks, refreshments will be provided.

(Helpful items you could bring: hats, gloves, lunch,.... plus a compass & 100ft tape measure if you have one, binoculars if you want to enjoy the birds)
