Take a break from the summer heat to join us for the "Re-Visioning Landscapes with LID: The Houston Experience" webcast. During the past winter, the Houston Land/Water Sustainability Forum sponsored a national Low Impact Development (LID) Design Competition. The competition was created to educate design professionals, decision makers and the public on the economic, environmental and quality-of-life positive impacts of LID. The design teams, most of whom had no previous experience with LID, created designs for three real developments being planned around greater Houston—a green roadway, urban redevelopment, and a suburban residential design. This webcast will feature participants from all portions of the competition—competition organizers, competition winners, and design judges. This webcast will also feature a discussion of the competition's ripple effect on Houston's design/build community as well as the building ordinances in Houston. The competition is spawning interest beyond Houston on the benefits of LID. See for yourself what's behind the buzz.

Robert Adair has served multiple terms as a Board member for the South Central Chapter of the International Erosion Control Association and received that chapter's 2009 Sustained Contributor Award. As a member of the Environmental Committee and Stormwater Task Force for the Houston Chapter of the Associated General Contractors, he was instrumental in developing the stormwater training programming for that organization and has trained hundreds of construction professionals on stormwater compliance issues.
Justin Ring, PE, Senior Project Manager, Edminster, Hinshaw, Russ & Associates.
Justin R. Ring has been working in land development in the Houston area for over ten years. He is the chairman of the Central Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce Infrastructure Committee, works with the Fort Bend Economic Development Council, and is also First Vice President for the Association of Water Board of Directors, which is dedicated to the betterment of Texas water district operation and management through education and unification.
Christopher Browne, LEED AP, Manager, Land Planning and Development Services, Edminster, Hinshaw, Russ & Associates.
Christopher D. Browne's manages the Firm's planning and landscape architecture projects including master planned communities, parks and trails planning, and zoning and land use studies. He has been charged with spearheading the incorporation of sustainable LID techniques with up-front infrastructure cost savings and long term energy and resource preservation into the Firm's projects. Mr. Browne was recently appointed Chair of the Greater Houston Partnership's Parks, Recreation and Greenspace Committee which is assisting on a $500 million, 250 mile, linear trail and water quality project throughout the Houston area's nine major bayous.
Frank Liu, President, Lovett Interests, Inc.
Frank Liu is the president of Lovett Homes, a high end custom home and town home builder in the Houston area that he started in 1980. In 2003, Mr. Liu began InTown Homes, an innovative development company that builds new residential communities in close-in locations. Among his current projects is the first LID private residential project in Houston and a second project will be beginning soon.
