Nature and You : June

Thu, Jun 23rd 2022, 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Via Zoom

Please join on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 7 pm as we embark on a journey with photojournalist Alan Fishleder, into the natural world where photographic magic and surprises of light, focus, movement and interpretation will open to us.

Nature photography rewards us with a vivid counterpoint to the endless chaos of current events. We’ll keep an open heart, an open mind and open eyes to the beauty of daily life in the natural world.  The challenge of making a great image will be taken up as we reveal the inherent goodness of nature.

Woodland resident Alan Fishleder’s photographic journey began as a teenager in Phoenix, Arizona.  After college his photography interest led to a 20-year career as a newspaperman, working on dailies in the Bay Area and Sacramento Valley as a photojournalist, reporter and editor.  His journalistic career was followed by a 20-year stint with the University of California.  After retirement from the University several years ago, Fishleder returned to photography.  His work appeared in a solo exhibition held in conjunction with Woodland’s First Friday Art Walk and numerous group shows, including the Crocker Kingsley Art Competition 2015 at Blue Line Arts, Roseville; YoloArts’ Gallery 625 and Barn Gallery, Woodland; Crocker Art Museum, Viewpoint Gallery, and Jay Jay Gallery, Sacramento; Sacramento Fine Arts Center, Carmichael; and the California State Fair, among other venues.
