Yolo Basin Foundation offers monthly tours of the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area (October – June) and the City of Davis Wetlands. The tours are appropriate for all levels of outdoor enthusiasts and birders. These are driving tours on gravel roads with several stops and an occasional, optional short walk. Pets are not allowed on tours.

Tours are limited to 30 people. Every individual must be registered to participate. By registering, you are agreeing to follow current health and safety protocols including wearing a mask if unvaccinated for the entirety of the event, maintaining 6 feet of distance from other individuals or groups, providing transportation for yourself and/or your group, and not attending if you are sick. Social distancing practices will be in place when walking and stopping to view wildlife.

Please bring your own binoculars if you have them. Binoculars are available to borrow.

Donations to support our wetlands education programs are greatly appreciated! There is a suggested donation of $10/adult for tours.

The Davis Wetlands is a managed, native California wetland ecosystem that includes oak riparian woodlands and native grasslands. The group will caravan along the hard-packed gravel roads of the auto tour route. Several stops will be made along the way providing guests with a closer look at the many species of birds that utilize the more than 400 acres of reconstructed wetlands.

Tours take place on the first Saturday of every month. September through February tour times are 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.; March through August 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tours run rain or shine, expect in instances of flooding. Reservations are required to attend. Visit our wetland tour page for dates and registration. www.yolobasin.org/wetlands-tours
