Spring Creek Cleanup

Sat, Apr 23rd 2022, 9:00am - 12:00pm
201 E Main St, Winters, CA 95694

Join PCC for a morning of spring cleaning! For over 30 years, PCC has been hosting cleanups along Putah Creek. Every fall and spring, volunteers from all over the watershed come together to lend a helping hand and remove debris, plastics, and other gunk from the creek. Removing trash from the creek keeps it from harming wildlife and plants. Often litter along Putah Creek finds itself downstream in the Yolo Bypass and maybe even out to the Pacific Ocean! By removing litter from Putah Creek, we are ensuring the protection of other key wildlife areas. So, this April 23rd, get out to Winters Nature Park and do some spring cleaning!

Our Spring Creek Cleanup will take place at Winters Nature Park and along Putah Creek Rd (the portion that borders the park). Volunteers will pick up trash from the North and South side of the creek from the Railroad Bridge to I-505. Throughout the park, there are cages surrounding trees to protect from beaver herbivory. Volunteers will also help in removing debris from the cages to give those trees some room to breathe!
