Hedgerow Planting Day at CLBL's The Maples

Sat, Mar 26th 2022, 9:00am - 12:00pm
Center for Land Based Learning's The Maples 40140 Best Ranch Rd, Woodland, CA 95776

Join Putah Creek Council for a morning of plant installation along a SLEWS hedgerow at Center for Land Based Learning's headquarters, The Maples. Volunteers will be installing California native plants in a hedgerow that was started by the Student and Landowner Education Watershed Stewardship Program as well as PCC's OneCreek Seasonal Restoration Program. This volunteer day will finish off the hedgerow by installing over 100 more plants! Hedgerows are living fences that are installed in working landscapes to increase biodiversity. They function as habitat corridors for wildlife and attract beneficial insects. Join us and get your gloves dirty while learning about the wonders of hedgerows!

This event is brought to you by the Yolo Creek and Community Partnership, a partnership between Putah Creek Council, Yolo County Resource Conservation District, and the Center for Land Based Learning. This partnership is generously funded by the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation Community Fund. YCCP is dedicated to creating healthy habitat and bolstering biodiversity while engaging high schoolers and the general public in envrionmental stewardship.
