Mushroom Madness with LandPaths at Riddell Preserve

Tue, Dec 28th 2021, 10:00am - 2:00pm
Riddell Preserve

You are invited to explore the magnificent world of fungi with LandPaths' own mushroom enthusiast, Jessica Holloway! Let's go on a leisurely saunter at LandPaths’ beautiful Riddell Preserve, a 400-acre preserve in Healdsburg, on the ancestral homeland of the Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians, protected forever by Ag + Open Space. You'll explore the wonders of edible and common mushrooms, their amazing life-cycles, and how to find them. Foragers of all levels are welcome!

We will walk between two and four miles, with elevations up to 800 feet. The distance we cover all depends on how many mushrooms we find. Our foray will include constant stops to explore the characteristics of fungi along the way and take in the beauty that the preserve has to offer. Our plan is to learn together as a group. If you wish to wander into the woods and not be with a group, this is not the foray for you. Adults and children are welcome to join! This is a family-friendly outing. Thank you to our partners at Ag + Open Space.
