NATURE & YOU LECTURE SERIES: LOCAL BUTTERFLIES AND DRAGONFLIES AFTER FIRE

Thu, Sep 23rd 2021, 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Online Via Zoom

Greg Kareofelas, self-taught Naturalist and Associate of the UC Davis Bohart Museum of Entomology has been studying butterflies and dragonflies in the local inner costal range mountains since 1960.  He has watched the very diverse and unusual fauna for years before the Ranch and August Complex fires devastated the region and is now documenting what he is seeing after the fires.  Greg’s talk will concentrate on his observations in the area prior to those fires and some speculation as to what may have survived the fire and what may have been extirpated.

This lecture will be ONLINE in a Zoom meeting.  You must register on this page (be sure to include your email address) and download Zoom. (There is no need to create an account.) After registering, participants will be sent an email with the meeting ID and password.  After the lecture, you will be able to ask questions via Zoom’s chat feature.
