Napa Solano Audubon Society Bird Walk at Lagoon Valley Regional Park
Lagoon Valley consists of many hiking trails among the hills and canyons and groves of mixed conifers and deciduous trees. The lake may be dry but there is still plenty to see as the days get longer and hotter. White-Breasted Nuthatch, Western Bluebird, Green Heron, Mallard, Double-Crested Cormorant, Red-Shouldered Hawk, Bullock's Oriole, Western Kingbird and Nuttall's Woodpecker are guaranteed. Loggerhead Shrike, Common Gallinule, Lark Sparrow, Great-Tailed Grackle, Rufous-Crowned Sparrow, Osprey, Western Meadowlark, Pileated Woodpecker, Bald Eagle and Tricolored Blackbird have been reported in the past.

The weather is projected to be in the High 90's dipping into the low 100s throughout the day. It will be cooler in the morning, but hotter toward the afternoon. There are no strenuous hills and we will stick to mostly shaded pathways. Water and binoculars are a must. The trail is mostly paved. Sturdy hiking boots or shoes should be worn. Please dress according to the weather and location.

COVID REGULATIONS
As of Wednesday, June 15 COVID regulations have been laxed in California and most of the businesses and groups can operate at full capacity. Masks from now on will be optional but I still advise everyone to still be cautious as we are unaware of variants that could pop-up. If you are sick, or feel unwell, please do not attend. I promise that there will be more walks in the future and the birds will be there!

NOTE: The park was enforcing parking fees, so we will meet on the eastern side of the park on Butcher Road (38.343743, -122.002880).
Try to arrive early as the parking can be limited.
