Volunteer at Putah Creek Council's Nursery

Wed, Jun 23rd 2021, 9:00am - 12:00pm
Putah Creek Council's Nursery 3373 Sackett Lane Winters, 95694

Located beyond Lake Solano Park, please put our address in your navigation before heading out, there is poor cellphone service in the area. Our facilities are at the end of Sackett Lane, just past the bright orange front gate.

We're happy to invite you out to our new nursery site to work with other nature-minded people who are interested in plants and caring for our watershed. We're just beginning to start production at our facilities, so nursery tasks will vary from day-to-day. Typically, they include transplanting, weeding, watering, trimming, pot washing, and other tasks as necessary.

Putah Creek Council grows a variety of native plants for use in our habitat enhancement project sites throughout the Putah Creek watershed.

All plants in the nursery are propagated from seeds and cuttings taken from plants growing in the Putah-Cache basin. All plants are propagated, transplanted, weeded, and otherwise cared for by community volunteers - just like you!

Nursery Rules

Volunteers age 14 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please bring a water bottle, we have purified water on tap. Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes. Wearing a hat and sunscreen is advised!
