Western Monarch Society Milkweed Giveaways at the St. Helena Farmers Market

Fri, May 28th 2021, 7:30am - 12:00pm
Crane Park – City of St. Helena 360 Crane Avenue, St. Helena, 94574

Do you have a sunny spot in your garden with irrigation here in Napa?

If so, help us bring back the Western Monarch Butterfly from the brink of extinction – while enjoying beautiful, native milkweed in your garden!

Please join Napa’s very own Western Monarch Society for our last two FREE Milkweed Seedling Giveaways of the season:

Friday May 21 & May 28 at the St. Helena Farmer’s Market

Native milkweed is the only source of food for Western Monarch caterpillars. Native milkweed availability has been drastically decreased in California in recent years by use of herbicides. The Western Monarch population has decreased by 99.9% in the past 30 years. Help us take action now!

For a pledge to care for and irrigate your free milkweed starts, as well as a pledge to “map” your milkweed for citizen science efforts (we will assist you!), we will give you 1-6 starts of either Showy Milkweed (Asclepias speciosa) or Narrow Leaf Milkweed (Asclepias fasicularis).

Please help us save this iconic California insect – the beautiful Western Monarch Butterfly!

See you at the Market!
