Stand by Your Lands: Organize to Protect Local Wild Places

Wed, May 26th 2021, 9:00pm - 10:00pm

Do you ever visit our public lands and see abuses to their natural resources, habitat being destroyed, or trails and campgrounds falling into disrepair? Have you ever said to yourself, “Why doesn't somebody do something about this?”

Would you like to learn how you can make a positive difference for how our public lands in northwestern California are managed? If so, you'll want to join us for our next installment of Stand By Your Lands, our ongoing activism workshops for public lands across California. New to 2021, our next event will be online on May 26th from 5-7pm. Attendance will be limited to 30 participants.

More than 44% of California is managed by federal public land management agencies, including the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S. Forest Service, and National Park Service. Please join us on May 26 to learn how you can get involved in efforts to protect, restore, and improve the agencies' management of these lands and sustainable public recreation opportunities on them. The online workshop will provide you with knowledge and skills that will enable you to positively influence the management of the following public lands:

  • BLM Arcata Field Office
  • BLM Redding Field Office
  • Klamath National Forest
  • Mendocino National Forest
  • Shasta-Trinity National Forest
  • Six Rivers National Forest

The training is entirely free, though donations are welcome. For more information, please contact Ryan Henson, CalWild, 530-365-1455 or at rhenson@calwild.org
