Napa Open Space District Earth Day Volunteer Project

Thu, Apr 22nd 2021, 8:00am - 1:00pm
Moore Creek Park 2602 Chiles Pope Valley Rd, St Helena, CA 94574

Join us to celebrate Earth Day 2021 by giving back and getting involved in a Covid-safe NOSD volunteer project!

The Napa Open Space District has been focused on removing invasive plant species like French Broom in various parks around Napa County for several years now. These invasive plants choke out other native species in forests and create dangerous fuel for wildfires.

Come out and volunteer with us at Moore Creek Park, where we've been attacking French Broom systematically for several years. We're making great progress in eradicating this plant at this park and we'd love to have your help.

No experience with trailwork is needed! We'll get everyone set up with instructions and a great team of fellow volunteers to work with. We'll hike in, work for a few hours, and then break for lunch before concluding our day together.

Note - This project is located about 2 miles into the park and we'll have to hike in. Please be prepared for an approximately 2 mile hike (each way) through this beautiful trail.
