Creekside Creations: Celebrate Nature!

Sat, Nov 21st 2020, 10:00am
Online Zoom Meeting

Did you know that spending time in nature reduces stress, depression, and helps promote an overall sense of wellbeing? Creekside Creations is an art class centered around Putah Creek with the goal of fostering a deeper connection and understanding of the benefits of nature. Local community member and PCC Boardmember, Leslie Allen, will be guiding the class and providing instruction on a fish printing activity as well as a watercolor paint activity. Although we are unable to host the event in person, creating connections with the creek and nature is as easy as reflecting on the environment a round us.

Fish printing supplies will be provided by PCC for up to 25 people (supplies include rice paper, ink, paintbrushes, sharpies). Traditional fish printing is done on a real, whole fish (preferably one caught from Putah Creek), but the fish can also be purchased from the store. Putah Creek Council does have rubber fish and watercolor palettes, but supplies are limited. If you are interested in using a rubber fish or need a watercolor palette, please contact Alli at alli@putahcreekcouncil.org. All supplies for the fish printing activity will be available through contactless pickup at our office located at 107 Main Street in Winters.
