Sat, Nov 21st 2020, all day
Online 11/3/2020-1/11/2021 Mariposa County 11/21/2020

This workshop series will help landowners develop plans to improve and protect their forest lands in an ecologically and economically sustainable manner. The workshops will address management objectives and planning, forest restoration, fuels reduction, project development, permitting, and cost-share opportunities. Participants will connect with other landowners and learn how to collect information to develop their own management plans.

Workshop Formats:

Online and in-person workshop: Participants will review forestry, forest management and ecological materials posted online at their own pace; complete short activities related to the drafting of a forest management plan; participate in weekly Zoom meetings; and attend one field day. Registered participants will be sent a syllabus with material and date specifics. Participants who complete the course will be eligible for a free visit by a Registered Professional Forester to assess its content.

In-person, three-day workshop: Days one and two will consist of classroom and forest-based instruction on ecological concepts and measurement skills. After a week’s break to collect information on their own property, participants will return for day three to write up their management plans. Participants who complete the course will be eligible for a free visit by a Registered Professional Forester to assess its content.

Registration:

Registration for the workshop costs $60. Materials will be provided. Breakfast and lunches will be provided for in-person workshop days.
