Benicia Christmas Bird Count Pre-Count Scouting
Mark your calendars for this important field trip!
Preview several areas in the 15 mile diameter Benicia Christmas Bird Count (BCBC) circle. You will learn how to estimate the number of species seen, as well as tally as many species as possible. Since this field trip is during the count period, species can be counted as a Count Week species if they are not seen on the December 16th Christmas Bird Count. We will bird until approximately noon. Bring binoculars and snacks and/or lunch. Heavy rain cancels.

Directions: Meet Robin at the 1st Street pier in Benicia. Take Hwy 780 East and exit 3B for Military W. Continue on Military W Drive to 1st Street and turn right. Continue on 1st to the pier.
Carpool: Meet at the east side of Sweeney’s Sports, Napa. Leaves at 7:50 am.
